- PACK FOR YOUR TRIP- Depending on
how far your move is, you may want to pack what your going to need on the road first. Pack
a first aid kit, disposable plates, cups and utensils. Make sure that you keep your
Drivers License, Credit Cards, Road Maps and directions handy. The last thing you need on
a long trip is to be on the road and realize that you need something from a box that is
packed into the truck already and have to stop on the road to search your truck for it.
- FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU NEED FIRST-Remember,
there are no two moves alike and no one knows what your needs are better than you do. You
can use our Package Deals as a gauge and then create your own package. You should go to
our online store and browse through our inventory, it will give you ideas as to what you
may need.
- GETTING EVERYTHING READY- You may
want to start with the room by room method. Pack a little at a time doing a little
everyday. The worst thing you can do is leave everything for the last minute and end up
packing everything in a mad rush.
- MARK AS YOU PACK!-Save yourself a
ton of headaches when you unpack by simply marking all of your boxes as you pack them.
Make sure you mark boxes "Fragile", "Bedroom", "Kitchen"
etc.
- USE PROTECTIVE PRODUCTS- There are
many products that you can use to protect your belongings. You can use Bubble Wrap,
Mattress Bags, Packing Paper, Furniture Pads etc. You paid a lot of money for your
furniture and belongings, you don't want to unload your truck and find out that you
damaged that expensive China Cabinet.
- SMALL APPLIANCES- Use original
boxes to pack VCR's, Microwaves, Computers etc. whenever possible. If you are like most
people, and you did not save the original boxes, don't worry, there is a large selection
available at our online store. Just remember to use Wadded paper not Shredded
paper to pad those items. You can always use blankets to pad those items too.

DRIVE SAFELY- If you are renting
a truck and doing the move yourself, you need to plan for extra time on the road to rest.
If you can have an extra driver, it would be even better, but always get rest! Do not
drive for more than four hours at a time! Driving long distances can be very
hypnotic and falling asleep at the wheel can be catastrophic! Be careful and always buckle
up.
FINDING THE RIGHT MOVER- Finding
the right mover can prove to be quite a task. We recommend that any mover that you might
use be able to give you at least three references. At we believe that
a movers record of customer satisfaction is very important. Yes. We do moving jobs and our
record is impeccable. We want to do your job and we want to make you a satisfied customer,
but if you choose to use someone else or live outside of our service area, make sure to
use a company that stands behind its work.
DIESEL OR GAS?- Well, that
depends on your budget. Diesel engines tend to be a bit noisier but, you will get more
mileage out of a diesel truck than you will out of an unleaded gas engine. Typically, you
will get 2-3 miles per gallon more with the diesel.
RELOCATING?- If you are being
relocated by your employer without reimbursement or you are relocating to change jobs, a
lot of the expenses that you incur may be tax deductible. Make sure to get professional
advice from a licensed tax advisor before attempting to write anything off. But just in
case that they are, keep all of your receipts. Including meals, hotels, gas, truck rental
and any labor that you had to pay for.
